born in 1942, is a retired teacher, who has been a member of Writers Ink ever since he won an award for his short story 'The Horrible Power of Words' in the Daniil Pashkoff Prize 2002. In a way Writers Ink, with its workshops, read-ins and social events, has taken the role of his former teaching business - as a constant incentive and inspiration for his writing. Ottmar believes in form. If need be, he takes to rhyming or can end up with a veritable mock epic in blank verse. Another credo of his is that a poem needs to be understood at the first or second reading, or else it's for the dust bin. Ottmar also writes in German: poems, short stories.
